Living For The Weekend.

My little brother experienced his first heartbreak last week. He didnt say much about it (i found out through facebook lol) but i can tell he was upset. His first high school love.

Its funny how things seem so devastating in high school. A break up seems like the end of the world. That is....until a real life, grown up heartbreak slaps you in the face. I thought I found love in high school, I really did. Then I fell in love for real. Its crazy how your emotions mature in a few short years. The things that were oh so important back then, just dont matter anymore. You have a whole new set of wants, needs, and desires. I think the difference is...when youre grown, you are living for a goal [your purpose]. You know what you want out of life for the most part, and you begin to think of ways to make those things happen. In high school...youre living for the weekend really. "Living for the weekend" in the sense that the only things that truly matter are your friends, this party, that test, this vacation, etc. You arent thinking longterm in high school....at least I wasnt.

Things are so much easier in high school. There arent as many disappointments...because you havent really set many expectations [goals].

Sometimes I miss the days when I was simply "Living for the weekend." Although it didnt seem like it at the time, things were so much easier then; but mostly I appreciate the growth Im experiencing living for my purpose.
so close, yet so far....its all very frustrating really.

"Big Sis"

Found a new blog to read tonight...and I must admit im intrigued.

I think im going to "adopt" this woman as my big sister...from afar of course lol. I love her outlook on life. Even though she is grown she is ever changing. She makes a ton of mistakes, she has a ton of fun...she's human. From the outside looking in its easy to think that all grown women have their shit together. They dont deal with relationship drama, they dont get hit on by creepers, they dont go out and have fun...my "big sis" has definitely shown me that grown does not = boring.

It seems as if we both are looking for the same things out of life.....love, happiness, and success. The only difference is that shes been there/ done that, while my journey is just beginning. I love that shes never given up hope that she will find true happiness. Im even more in love with the fact that she is in love with herself.

I wont be sharing the link to this blog...and Ive decided to follow her anonymously [i know that sounds a little creepy lol]. But hey...there are just some things a girl needs to keep to herself ya know?? And my "big sis" is one of them =]

P.S. i will be sharing some of her thoughts and/or advice with you guys....im not that stingy!

Silver and Gold.

"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold."

Who knew this song i learned in girl scouts so many years ago would be so relevant today? Just because someone new has entered your life doesnt mean you have to drop all of the people who loved and cared for you in the past.

In this particular situation....it shows me you arent ready to move on. You know if you stay in contact with me you'll be head over heels again. Its funny having this new prospective on things... the realization that I have this power over you.

Nice knowing Im not the only weakling when it comes to us.

Who runs the world?? ;-)

Making the Movies Jealous.

"You forgot to call me on my birthday

I swear Im the last thing on your mind.
There is nothing you can do to fix it, all I ever asked you for was time.
Now the lights don't glow the same way that they used to.
And you finally get a moment to yourself
You realize I was everything youre missing.
And I tell you Im in love with someone else...."

**Im way too gorgeous, talented, and intelligent for this. And my love is too damn good to be thrown back in my face. Im taking my heart back...straight like that.

The Run Down.

ive been away for months but let me fill you in on some things.

1) senior ball was the bomb.com. i truly felt like a movie star. not to toot my own horn or anything....but my dress was beautiful. Im so blessed to have parents who actually like seeing me happy....and are able to give that to me. i had a wonderful date who was just a friend...we had a great time. i actually liked it better that way. no drama, no tension, just FUN. definitely a night to remember.

2) i never heard back from that program in Denver. which isnt necessarily a bad thing considering i dont have a car anymore and my plan was to drive ALL the way out there from new york.

3) senior week was bananas. zero sleep, alot of liquor, and great memories. what more could a girl ask for? i managed not to cry ALL week long...until saturday night (Graduation Eve). we had our last party in the student center and the DJ decided to play that Vitamin C song at the end of the night. you know...."As we go on, we remember, all the times we spent together..." i balled like a baby.

4) i finished my final semester of college with straight As and graduated Cum Laude. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Leadership studies. Niceeeeeee (fab voice).

5) my linesisters dropped me off at the airport last friday. once again i cried like a baby. only this time i was alone...in the airport. im sure i looked like a creeper lol.

6) my 22nd birthday was yesterday. i feel old as shit. but very loved =]
